Anlin is a relatively New Window & Door company established in 1990. They were recently purchased by a bigger manufacturer PGT Innovations for 126 million dollars in 2021.

Pro: They are known for their online presence and high ratings. They are also known for great customer service.

Con: The Frames are nearly 4 inches thick and have lines that run all thorough including a bump all around the frame. This is hard to see in pictures so we would recommend asking to see a sample from any sales person. The most expensive part of manufacturing is the glass, so even though Anlin windows are much more expensive they are also saving millions of dollars by providing less glass and taking away a lot of your view outside your windows.

Pro: The vinyl frame is reinforced with Aluminum making the window heavier and stronger. We think this is a pro, but it can also lead to less energy efficiency because metals conduct heat.

Con: One of the main things that made Anlin special was how they sealed their windows making them more energy efficient. This is no longer the case after the sell to PGT in 2021. They now farmed this out to Cardinal Glass. Now there windows are the same energy efficiency as most manufacturers.

Pro: Anlin has a Double Lifetime Warranty. No you do not have to live two lifetimes, but you can transfer a lifetime warranty to a second owner which increases the value of your property.

Simonton is one of the oldest manufacturers in America established in 1946. This is a 77 year old company with annual revenues over 300 million annually. They are also owned by one of the oldest and Number 1 selling manufacturers' in America Plygem.

Pro: They are more affordable than brand names like Milgard. Anlin is usually 3-4 thousand dollars more than Anlin on the same size window project.

Con: Their online presence needs some work. Most of their reviews are for the east coast part of Simonton which makes very different windows than the ones manufactured on the West Coast.

Pro: Simonton Daylight Max windows have a slimmer frame that is only 1 inch 3/4 thick so you typically get over 3-4 more inches of glass and retain more of your view from your windows.

Con: Simonton Daylight Max does not come in double hung, so you will have to switch to their Madera brand that has larger frames around 2 1/2 inches.
